This is no late bloomer. Zion Lanier first picked up a basketball at 18 months old and never put it down.

A lifelong multi-sport athlete, Zion has competed at elite levels across basketball, track & field, and beyond. Each discipline sharpening the explosiveness, coordination, and competitive drive he brings to the court every night.

Today, he suits up in the Notre Dame #11 jersey for Varsity basketball in the Mission League, one of the most competitive high school conferences in the country.

Basketball was always first. But Zion's competitive drive didn't stop there. As a 2019 USATF Junior Olympian, he brought home medals in multiple events, finishing #2 nationally in the Long Jump and #5 in the High Jump, proving his gifts extend far beyond the hardwood.

The Connection

That same explosive leaping ability that earned national medals now translates directly to the basketball court, powering Zion's rim attacks, defensive presence, and above-the-rim play.
